A George F. McGurk was born in January 1884 in Massachusetts according to the U. S. Census of 1900. George was living then in North Adams, Massachusetts. His parents were Michael McGurk and Charlotte nee Trimble who both had been born in Ireland.

Peter McGurk, the grand nephew of George and grandson of Frank McGurk, believes the George McGurke in the Nevada U. S. Census in 1910 may have been the same person.

Siblings of George recorded on the 1900 census were Charles age 18, Samuel age 14, Frank age 12 and Florence age 8.
