FOREST RANGER DEBITT MAKES
REPORT GIVING NAMES
OF FIRE VICTIMS
exception of four bodies which could not be identified the names of the
forty-six men who were killed in the forest fires in the St. Joe section have
been reported by Forest Ranger R. M. Debitt, of Avery.
The lists are as follows.
On Setzer creek: Geo. Smith, J. A. Blodgett, Oscar Weigert, Harry Jackson, L. Uotto, Jimmy Donahue, Frank Sanders, Patrick Grogan, Lary Levar, M. Phwiser, J. Riezick, W. Dilo, Jack Hill, O. Bing, Ed Murphy, Ralph Ekhoen, Frank Sketchell, Ed Dunn, W. F. Norton, L. Schwartz, Wm. Casey, H. W. Baker, Frank Masterson, Geo. McGurk, O. Ellefson, F. D. Swick, W. Polk, H. Siphers.
At Big creek: Gus Johnson, W. Flynn, Sam Hull, L. Johnson, Edward Frye, John Hoss, Harry Smith, Joe Denten, J. Stevens, J. Harp, Chris Christensen, Jim Denten, Glenn Taylor, K. Anderson.
Missing on Setzer creek: Jas. Kerr.
Four additional bodies were found on Big Creek but no clue exists to their identity. The ranger's time book having been lost in the fire.
